Skin Smoothing Soak ~

Homemade bath salts will leave your skin soft and smelling good. Combine 1 cup sea salt and 2 cups Epsom salts in a bowl and mix well. Add a couple of drops of orange food coloring, if desired, and mix well. Sprinkle with five drops of orange essential oil and ¼ teaspoon glycerin (sold at many crafts stores). Stir well. Run a warm bath and add some of this mixture under the flowing water, then slip in and relax.

Candy Cane Bath Salts ~

An adorable gift for during the holidays, these peppermint-scented salts really get you in the holiday spirit.

Ingredients
2 C. Epsom salts
1/2 C. sea salt
4-6 drops peppermint oil
2-3 drops red food coloring

Directions
Place one C. of Epsom and 1/4 C. sea salt in a bowl or resealable plastic bag. Add 2-3 drops peppermint oil. Place the remaining ingredients in a second bowl. Mix all ingredients well. Layer the red and white salts in a clear bottle or jar. 1/2 liter water bottles work well because they have the stripes. Tie with a ribbon and some small candy canes. This makes a great holiday gift for friends.

Loofa Slices ~

This creative ‘recipe’ is great to keep around the house for you or for gifts.

Ingredients
1 clean large Pringles Potato Chip can
1 loofa sponge
2-3 Glycerine soap bars, in desired colors

Directions
Cut the loofa sponge to fit to within 1/4 inch of the top of the can. Depending upon the size of the sponge, you may be able to fill more than one can. Chop bars of soap into coarse pieces. Melt soap in small saucepan over very low heat until melted. Meanwhile, put the loofa into the can. Let soap cool down, but do not let it harden. Pour cooled, melted soap into the Pringles can. When the soap has hardened and dried, tear away the can, then slice the loofa soap into thin slices for individual gifts or personal use.

Bedtime Bath Mixture ~

This soak will help you unwind and relax after a stressful day.

Ingredients
2 drops rose geranium oil
2 drops lavender oil
2 drops chamomile oil

Directions
Mix the oils into a warm bath and soak for at least 15 minutes.

Coconut Bath Soak Pouches ~

Coconut, oatmeal and milk math this a soothing bath soak that you can make ahead of time and keep in your bathroom

Ingredients
1 C. oatmeal
1 C. brown rice
1 tsp. coconut extract
Contents of 5 black tea bags
1 C. powdered milk
Cheesecloth

Directions
Mix ingredients (except cheesecloth, of course) in a bowl, then divide in half. Cut two 8-inch squares of cheesecloth and pour half of the mixture into each square. Tie at the top with pretty string. Toss one pouch into the bath under running water.

Scented Salt Scrub ~

This gives skin a polished, moisturized glow while removing dull, dead cells.

Ingredients
1 1/4 C. sea salt
1/4 C. sweet almond oil
1/8 C. liquid hand soap with aloe vera
5 (200 IU) vitamin E capsules, emptied into bottle
.5 ml peppermint essential oil
.5 ml lavender essential oil
.5 ml rosemary essential oil

Directions
Put all into a squeeze bottle and shake well. To use, apply to skin and rub in a soft, circular motion. Rinse clean and pat dry. Follow with a good moisturizer.

Sassy Bran Protein Muffins

Sassy Bran Protein Muffins

This is a must have for anybody whether you are a fitness nut and like a healthy snack, or just like to have a great tasting muffin.
Great for kids, adults, breakfast, snack, anytime, anywhere, and anyone

This recipe is an ORIGINAL Living Smart Girl creation ~

Ingredients ~

1 Cup Flour
1/4 Cup Protein Powder
1 Tbsp Baking Powder
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Cinnamon (ground)
1 Tbsp Instant Coffee
2 Cups Bran Cereal ~ I used Bran Buds
1 1/4 Cup Skim Milk
1/4 Cup Natural Applesauce
2 Egg Whites
1 Tsp Vanilla

Mix all dry ingredients together. Mix Milk and Cereal in a bowl and let sit 2-4 minutes till soft. Mix all other wet ingredients together.

Add all ingredients into one bowl and mix well by hand.

Up close of the ingredients all mixed well.

I used muffin cup liners, but don’t recommend that. Because there is no oil they stick to papers.
So, just put non stick spray on the muffin pans and add the mix directly into the cups.
3/4 full for each cup.

Bake for 20 Min at 400 Degrees.
End Result ~ Beautiful, Tasty, and Healthy Muffins

I took these from the oven and my husband ate 4 of them!! He loved them!! He isn’t into cinnamon stuff but because there is not much cinnamon in them you don’t have to worry about it being over powering.

If you like cinnamon and vanilla and coffee you can adjust that.
These are perfect the way they are with a touch of honey on them or butter.

Each muffin is approx 100 Calories.

Spiced Pumpkin Apple Muffins

Another Living Smart Girl creation.

Ingredients ~

1 Box spiced cake mix (any brand)
1 Can of Pumpkin Puree
1/3 Cup Natural Applesauce
1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl.
Fill 12 lined muffin cups and bake.
400 Degrees for 20 Minutes.

YUM!! Perfect for a treat, or breakfast.
If you like pumpkin this is a must try recipe.

See how moist these look? Well they are the moistest muffins you will ever eat!!

Some variations for you ~ Use any flavor cake mix.. chocolate, white, yellow.. just changes the flavor.
Note ~ omit the cinnamon if you use a chocolate cake

Drop spoonfuls of mix onto a cookie sheet and smash down… they make great whoopie pies

You can also make a cake out of this instead of muffins. Oven at 375 and bake for 25 minutes to make sure the middle is done.
